A DIFFERENT APPROACH TO PSYCHIATRIC CARE
You are more than a diagnosis.
Mental health is affected by many factors, including sleep, physical health, relationships, work, stress, habits, history, environment, and personal values. Treatment starts by understanding the whole picture, not reducing you to one part of it.

Braxton Newton,
MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Braxton is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner whose background spans child, adolescent, and adult psychiatric nursing, intensive care, and hospice. Working in these settings taught him how to therapeutically connect with people, often during the darkest and most challenging times in their lives:
The family sitting at the bedside of a loved one who was severely injured in an automobile crash, unsure whether they will pull through.
The patient who has just learned that cancer treatment is no longer working and is now coming to terms with what it means to enter hospice care.
The child or teen who has been struggling with their mental health and now finds themselves in a treatment facility, away from their family and unsure what comes next.
Today, he brings that same steady, direct, human approach to psychiatric care. His work combines psychiatric evaluation, medication management when appropriate, and psychotherapy while paying attention to the circumstances shaping each person’s life.
You do not have to wait until something breaks.
Seeking psychiatric care before crisis or major dysfunction develops can be a meaningful part of taking care of yourself.
